Organisational Culture Transformation

Organisational culture transformation does not happen through announcements, posters, or town halls. It changes when leaders behave differently, and when those behaviours spread through the organisation.

Our approach is inspired by the way new ideas spread through organisations. Innovations rarely become mainstream immediately — they are first adopted by innovators and early adopters before reaching the broader population.

Breakfree® Culture

Culture transformation works the same way.
We guide organisations through three key phases of cultural adoption:

Phase One: Engineering the Culture

Transformation begins with leadership alignment. In this phase, we work closely with the senior leadership team to define the culture required to support the organisation’s strategic ambitions. Through facilitated workshops and strategic dialogue, leaders explore:

Outcome

Alignment among senior leaders on the desired culture and the behaviours required to create it.

Phase Two: Early Adoption

Once leadership alignment is achieved, the next step is to socialise these behaviours with people managers across the organisation. Managers play a critical role because they translate leadership intent into everyday behaviour for their teams. Through workshops and facilitated discussions, managers:

Outcome

Approximately 15–20% of leaders begin adopting the new behaviours, creating the early momentum needed for cultural change.

Phase Three: Mass Enablement

In the final phase, the organisation moves from experimentation to scale. Task forces and leadership champions are established to support adoption across the organisation. New practices, systems, and tools are introduced to reinforce the behaviours being encouraged. Leaders are supported to:

Outcome

The new culture becomes normalised and embedded into daily operations.
